About the Role
We are seeking askilled Industrial Electricianto support ongoing capital upgrades and maintenance works at a majorAlumina Smelter in Portland, Victoria.
This role will see you working acrossfixed plant, industrial electrical systems and site communications infrastructure, contributing to safe, reliable and efficient operations in a complex processing environment.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team supportingmaintenance, breakdowns, shutdowns, and upgrade projectsacross critical plant areas.
Key Responsibilities
Perform electrical installation, commissioning, fault finding and repair onindustrial plant & equipment
Install, terminate and teststructured cabling systems (CAT6 / fibre where applicable)
Support communications infrastructure includingnetwork cabinets, patch panels, field devices and connectivity for control systems
Conduct inspections, testing and commissioning ofLV/HV electrical systems and associated equipment
Assist withinstrumentation tasks, including loop checks, device replacement and basic calibration where required
Diagnose faults acrosselectrical, control and communications systems
Support multiple concurrentcapital upgrade and brownfield installation projects
Work safely within a live processing environment adhering topermit systems, isolations (LOTO) and site procedures
Collaborate with engineering,
operations and other trades to ensureplant reliability and uptime
Complete accurate documentation, reports and compliance records
About You
Trade-qualifiedElectrician (A-Grade VIC licence or equivalent)
Demonstrated experience inheavy industrial environmentssuch as alumina, mining, smelting, oil & gas, or manufacturing
Hands‐on experience withstructured cabling (CAT5/6), fibre optics or industrial communications systems
Exposure toPLC/SCADA networks, industrial Ethernet, or control systems networkinghighly regarded
Solid technical knowledge ofLV/HV systems, motors, drives and plant equipment
Ability to read and interpretelectrical drawings, schematics, network layouts and P&IDs;
Strong troubleshooting capability acrosselectrical and data/communications issues
Commitment tosafety, quality and teamwork
Able to work in afast-paced operational environmentwith competing priorities
Highly Regarded
Structured cabling systems Licence
Instrumentation exposure or dual trade (E&I;)
Experience insmelters, refineries or continuous processing plants
Working at Heights, Confined Space, EWPLVR/CPR, High Voltage switching (or willingness to obtain)
Experience with industrial networks (e.g.Profinet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP)
