Guide them to build skills that help them find work after release.
Ongoing role earning $79,122 - $90,989 + super
As anindustry officerat Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct, you will support young people to build work skills, routines and confidence.
You will do this in a safe, structured custodial environment with strong team support.
You will:
trainand supervise young people in industries, vocational training and work programs
coachyoung people through daily routines, teamwork and positive behaviour.
role-modelrespectful relationships and pro-social behaviour
maintainsafety through searches, supervision and dynamic risk assessment.
Our Industries team work on rostered shifts which will include some nights and weekends.
About you
We're looking for people with experience inhorticulture, hospitalityorwarehousingto grow Malmsbury as a centre for education, enabling young people to find meaningful work when they return to the community.
You must hold, or be willing to obtain, required clearances before starting.
This includes a Working with Children Check and first aid qualification.
You will also complete a fully funded Certificate IV in Youth Justice as part of your role.
You should also have:
relevantindustry or trade experience, with strong safety knowledge
the ability toteachsafe use of tools, machinery and equipment
confidence usingcomputer systemsfor records and reporting
a collaborative approach and respect fordiversebackgrounds.
