About the role
We are seeking an experienced Welder First Class to join our welding team at our Campbellfield facility.
This is a full-time position based in Campbellfield VIC ****.
As a Welder First Class, you will be responsible for performing skilled welding operations to the highest standards, ensuring all work meets our stringent quality requirements and industry regulations.
This role is integral to our production operations and offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects utilising your advanced welding expertise.
Key responsibilities
Perform high-quality welding operations using various welding techniques and processes, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications accurately
Set up and operate welding equipment, ensuring all machinery is properly calibrated and maintained
Prepare workpieces for welding through cutting, grinding, and positioning
Inspect welds and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
Conduct visual and dimensional checks on completed welds using appropriate measuring tools
Maintain accurate records of welding work and quality inspections
Adhere to all workplace health and safety procedures and regulations
Support junior welders and apprentices by providing guidance and sharing best practices
Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve technical issues and optimise workflows
What we're looking for
Current First Class Welder Ticket or equivalent welding qualification recognised in Victoria
Proven experience of at least 5+ years working as a qualified welder in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
Proficiency in multiple welding processes, including MIG, TIG, stick, and flux-core arc welding
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing work that meets strict quality standards
Comprehensive understanding of workplace health and safety procedures and regulatory compliance
Physical capability to perform the demands of the role, including working in various positions and handling heavy materials
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Communication skills and the ability to mentor and support less experienced team members
Experience with metal fabrication, boilermaking, or pressure vessel work is highly desirable
