Infrastructure Engineer – AD & Windows Server12-Month Initial Contract | Onsite | New South Wales
We are seeking an experiencedInfrastructure Engineer – AD & Windows Serverto join a dynamic technology environment, providing hands-on administration and support across core Microsoft infrastructure and virtualisation platforms.
This is aninitial 12-month contract opportunity, with the role basedonsite in New South Wales.
The position offers an approximately***** split between BAU operational activities and project-based work, providing the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing stability, performance and security of the infrastructure environment while also supporting major infrastructure initiatives.
You will work closely with infrastructure teams, project managers, solution architects and other technology stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure and scalable infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and supportMicrosoft Active Directory, including Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
Provide administration and support acrossWindows Server ****, **** and ****environments.
Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, configuration and optimisation of Windows Server infrastructure.
AdministerVMware vCenter / vSphere 7.x and higherenvironments, including virtual machine administration and infrastructure management.
PerformESXi host upgrades, maintenance and lifecycle activities.
Manage and support Windows Server patching usingMicrosoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM).
Monitor infrastructure performance, availability and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
Participate in infrastructure projects, upgrades, migrations and technology refresh initiatives.
Work with project teams and solution architects to implement infrastructure changes in line with technical designs and architectural standards.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures and infrastructure records.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure operations, automation, resilience and security.
Provide technical troubleshooting and escalation support for complex infrastructure issues.
Ensure infrastructure changes are implemented in accordance with established change and operational processes.

Essential Skills & Experience
StrongActive Directory administrationexperience, including:Domain Controller administration
DNS
DHCP
Group Policy / GPO
StrongWindows Server administrationexperience across Windows Server **** through to ****.
Demonstrated experience administeringVMware vCenter / vSphere 7.x or higher.
Experience managing VMware virtualisation environments and performingESXi host upgrades and maintenance.
Experience usingMicrosoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM)for Windows Server patching.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across Windows and virtualisation environments.
Experience working within structured enterprise IT environments andITIL/change management processes.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable SkillsExperience with any of the following would be highly regarded:
Linux administration, particularly RHEL / Red Hat or Ubuntu.
Microsoft Hyper-V.
Citrix, including Citrix Cloud / DaaS environments.
Cisco UCS / HyperFlexhardware and infrastructure.
Infrastructure automation, scripting or configuration management.
Project & Stakeholder Engagement
With approximately50% of the role focused on project delivery, you will play an important role in infrastructure transformation and improvement initiatives.
You will be expected to:
Collaborate with project managers, architects and technical specialists.
Translate technical requirements and architectural designs into practical infrastructure solutions.
Contribute to infrastructure planning, implementation and technical decision-making.
Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations and transformation initiatives.
Communicate technical issues, risks, dependencies and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
