Job Description
Experienced Bricklayer - Permanent Full time position $75,000 - $85,000 DREAM ESTATE ENTERPRISE PTY LTD is a well-established company in the brick laying construction industry in Melbourne and surrounding suburbs.
With work coming up predominantly in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne, Dream Estate requires a Bricklayer with at least 3 years experience in this field to fulfil the work as required.
Criteria Required: Relevant trade certificate and 3 years experience PPE and White Card
Have a current drivers licence and own vehicle Teamwork skills Effective communication skills Able to follow instructions and work autonomously Tasks and responsibilities:
studying plans and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures
erecting and dismantling restricted height scaffolding
sealing foundations with damp-resistant materials and spreading layers of mortar to serve as base and binder for blocks using trowels
laying bricks in rows, designs and shapes, and spreading mortar between joints
embedding blocks in mortar and removing excess mortar
checking vertical and horizontal alignment
cutting, shaping and polishing stones and bricks using machines and hand tools, and shaping bricks to fit irregular spaces
repairing and maintaining bricks, cement blocks and related structures
designing and cutting monumental masonry and lettering
constructing walls using stone slabs and large masonry slab blocks
Handle and store bricklaying supplies/materials help to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair; to ensure compliance with agreed codes, law, working practices and health and safety work methods Follow appropriate safety practices when using ladders, other access ways, handrails, barriers, scaffolding Follow established policies and procedures for Protective Personal Apparel (PPE) use and the use or non-use of devices such as mobile phone in workplace and training environments Follow appropriate manual handling techniques for manual tasks including lifting and moving items
