We are seeking an experienced Class 3 Marine Engineer with a strong commitment to safety, extensive hands-on vessel engineering experience, and the ability to confidently manage, maintain, and resolve all onboard mechanical systems to the highest standard.
The successful candidate must have previous experience as an engineer in charge with vast experience in vessel systems.
About the Role
As the vesselClass 3 Chief Marine Engineer,you will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all onboard mechanical and engineering systems across the vessel and other vessels under our management, operating on a range of Australian voyages.
Your primary duties will include:
Taking full responsibility for the vessel's engineering operations, ensuring compliance with all maritime and regulatory requirements.
Managing and maintaining all onboard mechanical and technical systemsto ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Leading and supervising engineering-related duties,supporting crew and fostering a professional and safety-focused onboard environment.
Ensuring engineering operationssupport uninterrupted delivery and a high standard of guest experience.
Overseeing the managementand reporting requirements of the PMS and SMS in relation to engineering and technical operations.
Maintaining accurate engineering logs, records, and reports in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
Working closely with the Master and shore-based managementto ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement.
What you will need
We are looking for a motivated and experienced maritime professional who possesses:
Current Class 3 Marine Engineer NC certificationwith minimum 5 years experience as a Chief Marine Engineer.
Certificate of Safety Training
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team.
A meticulous approach to safetyand adherence to maritime regulations.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, for effective interaction with crew, clients, and management.
A strong work ethic, reliability, and accountability.
Problem-solving abilitiesand the capacity to perform autonomously.
A commitment to providing a professional and memorable experiencefor all onboard.
