Your New Role
We are looking for a dedicated, energetic and experienced Air Perishable Operator to join our team on a full-time basis located in our Brisbane Airport.
The Air Perishable Operator plays a critical role in the freight forwarding company's perishable logistics operations.
This position is responsible for handling and managing the transportation and logistics of perishable goods, ensuring their safe and timely movement from origin to destination.
The Air Perishable Operator must have a strong understanding of perishable handling regulations, industry best practices, and possess excellent organizational skills to coordinate the transportation of time-sensitive and temperature-sensitive goods.

As well as having experience in a similar role, some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Receive and process orders for the transportation of perishable goods from clients and internal stakeholders.
Determine the specific requirements for each shipment, such as temperature controls,



packaging, and documentation.
Arrange transportation with carriers, airlines, or shipping lines, and negotiate rates to optimize cost-effectiveness and on-time delivery.
Temperature and Handling Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines concerning the transportation of perishable goods, including but not limited to temperature control requirements, safety standards, and documentation.
Documentation and Records:
Prepare and review all necessary shipping and customs documentation, such as airway bills, bills of lading, certificates, permits, and licenses.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all shipments, including tracking information and delivery status.
Quality Control and Inspections:
Perform quality control checks on incoming and outgoing perishable goods to ensure they meet the required standards.
Conduct inspections of perishable cargo, packaging, and temperature control equipment to identify any potential issues or deviations.
Communication and Customer Service:
Communicate regularly with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to provide updates on shipment status and address any concerns or queries.
Provide exceptional customer service to clients,



ensuring their needs are met and that any potential issues are resolved promptly.
Identify potential risks and challenges associated with perishable shipments and proactively develop contingency plans to mitigate these risks.
Identify areas for process improvement and suggest innovative solutions to optimize the perishable logistics operation.
Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to enhance the company's perishable handling capabilities.
Other tasks and responsibilities which may be assigned as and when required by your supervisor / manager
Customer service is crucial in this role which means you will need to exercise a level of professionalism and understanding when it comes to customer needs.
What You Need
1 year experience in similar role / industry
Perishable knowledge and experience desirable
Dangerous Goods Certification
Up to date knowledge on processing EDNs
Great communication skills with high attention to detail
