A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced Finance Officer to join a well-established not-for-profit organisation based in Alice Springs.
This organisation delivers essential services and programs that support communities across Central Australia and is seeking a finance professional who can contribute to the smooth operation of a busy finance team.
This role offers a diverse mix of accounts, administration, and stakeholder engagement responsibilities and would suit someone with strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and previous experience in a finance or bookkeeping environment.
Key Responsibilities
Process and reconcile supplier invoices and payments (Accounts Payable)
Manage debtor invoicing, receipting, and collections (Accounts Receivable)
Perform bank reconciliations and daily banking activities
Process corporate credit card transactions and reconciliations
Maintain petty cash and financial records
Prepare travel allowance and workshop payment requests
Enter journals and assist with month-end finance activities
Liaise with suppliers, staff, and external stakeholders regarding finance-related queries
Assist with reporting requirements, audit preparation, and general finance administration
Support the broader finance team with ad hoc duties as required
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts Officer, Bookkeeper, or similar role
Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
Experience using accounting software, preferably Xero, MYOB considered
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Professional and friendly approach when dealing with stakeholders
Previous experience within a not-for-profit or community-focused organisation will be highly regarded
