About the Role

Out here at Telfer, we're not just keeping the lights on we're keeping a world-class operation running safely, efficiently, and reliably.
This role will be primarily providing engineering support to the Underground and Utilities (site infrastructure) departments on site.
Candidates will be required to work underground from time to time.
Experience with high voltage distribution up to 33kV, hoisting, and dewatering will be highly regarded for this role.
This role is full time on a 8/6 FIFO roster.
As an Electrical Engineer – Underground and Utilities, you will be responsible for:
Supporting the Senior Electrical Engineer in keeping Underground and Utilities operations running smoothly.
Review and approve electrical designs, reports, and drawings with confidence
Identify and manage reliability risks before they become real problems
Lead investigations into breakdowns and deliver meaningful root cause analysis
Provide expert advice on electrical safety, compliance, and engineering standards
Deliver practical, cost-effective solutions that actually work in the field
Maintain configuration systems and ensure documentation stays sharp and accurate
Drive improvements through fault finding, failure analysis, and innovative thinking
Develop scopes of work and repair strategies that get results




Support shutdowns and keep critical work on track
Review condition monitoring reports and turn insights into action
About You
Electrical Engineering degree (recognised by Engineers Australia)
Solid understanding of Australian standards and legislation
Experience in high voltage distribution and underground hard rock mining is desireable
Working at Heights & Confined Space
C Class Driver's Licence
About Telfer Operations
Telfer is a long-life gold-copper mine in the Paterson Province of Western Australia's East Pilbara region.
The operation includes both open-pit and underground mining and Australia's third-largest gold-copper processing facility.
Since commencing production in ****, Telfer has produced over 15 million ounces of gold.
The site operates on a fly-in fly-out basis and offers a wide range of onsite recreational facilities to support workforce wellbeing.
