Our beautiful little Children's House is seeking an experienced Lead Educator who values working at a slower pace with greater calm, consistency and purpose in a genuinely child-led setting.
We are a 32-place early learning service with a long-established reputation for our high quality program, nurturing approach and warm community. Through the changing seasons of early childhood education, we believe it is more important than ever to protect the qualities which make us unique and special.
Our approach is respectful, child-led and grounded in a holistic understanding of each child. We value calm and thoughtfully prepared environments, meaningful relationships, practical life experiences, connection with nature and gentle daily rhythms. Children are given the time and space to explore, concentrate, build independence and develop at their own pace.
Our small size allows us to build beautiful relationships with our children and their families, helping us to create consistency, trust and real community. We have carefully built and maintained a professional, supportive and warm team who share our core values of quality and respect. Educators are given the time and opportunity to observe carefully, respond thoughtfully and create experiences that reflect children's interests, strengths, development and wellbeing.
We are looking for an educator who brings passion, commitment and a genuine interest in the holistic development of children. You do not need to come from one particular educational background - we welcome experienced educators who value respectful relationships,

thoughtful practice and a calm approach to guiding children.
About the role
You will:
Build warm, secure and respectful relationships with children and families
Gently support children's independence, confidence and sense of belonging
Contribute to a calm, consistent and thoughtfully prepared learning environment
Plan meaningful experiences based on observation and children's interests
Work alongside a professional, supportive and committed team
Support consistent routines, expectations and guidance practices
Contribute your knowledge, interests and ideas to the continued development of our program
Maintain high standards of child safety, supervision, documentation and professional conduct

Strong knowledge of child development and respectful guidance practices
The ability to work calmly, consistently and professionally
Confidence contributing to planning,

documentation and reflective practice
A genuine desire to be part of a small and connected early learning community
Experience with holistic or child-led approaches would be welcomed but is not essential. Your ethos, experience and willingness to contribute meaningfully to our children's early learning journey are what we value most.
What we offer
$40 to $45 per hour, based on qualifications and experience
A permanent position with consistent weekly hours, flexibility available
A small, independently owned 32-place service with a warm and positive team
Genuine input into the continued development of the educational program
Calm, natural and thoughtfully prepared environments
Meaningful relationships with children and families
Support for professional learning and continued development
An setting where children and educators are valued and respected
If this sounds like the next chapter in your early years teaching story, we would love to hear from you.
Please apply with your résumé and a short introduction sharing what you value most about working with young children and the unique strengths you would love to bring to our Children's House.
