Hestia Joinery is seeking a skilled and experienced Cabinet Maker to join our growing team.
The successful applicant will manufacture, assemble, install, repair and refurbish high-quality cabinetry and furniture for residential and commercial projects while maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities • Examine drawings, work orders and sample parts to determine job specifications.
• Select and work with timber, veneers, particle board, synthetic wood and other engineered wood products.
• Program and operate computer-aided design (CAD) and computer numerical control (CNC) machinery to mark out, cut and shape components.
• Manufacture cabinets and furniture in accordance with drawings and specifications.
• Install cabinetry in kitchens, bathrooms and commercial fit-out projects.
• Manufacture fittings for boats, caravans and other projects requiring fine detail.
• Assemble cabinet and furniture components into completed products.
• Apply protective coatings and finishes to cabinets and furniture.
• Fit hinges, locks, catches, drawers, shelves and other associated hardware.
• Construct frames for chairs, couches and other furniture items.
• Manufacture reproduction furniture where required.
• Repair and refurbish furniture, including antique furniture.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety procedures and quality standards.
Skills and Qualifications • Certificate III in Cabinet Making • Minimum of One to two years' relevant post-qualification experience as a Cabinet Maker.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience operating woodworking machinery, CAD and CNC equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Good communication, organisational and time management skills.
