We're partnering with a well-established and highly respected Australian organisation to recruit an experienced Credit Approvals and Collections Officer to join their collaborative Finance team based in Melbourne's Western Suburbs.
This is far more than a traditional credit officer role.
You'll become the first point of contact for new customer account approvals, ensuring every application is assessed accurately while supporting customers and internal stakeholders with professionalism, empathy and commercial judgement.
You'll also manage a debtor portfolio, helping maintain healthy cash flow while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
About the Role Reporting to the Administration Manager and National Credit Manager, you'll play a key role in protecting the business while creating outstanding customer experiences from the very first interaction.
Your Responsibilities Assess new customer credit applications and conduct credit checks.
Set up customer accounts and manage PPSR registrations.
Manage a small debtor ledger and follow up outstanding accounts.
Respond to customer account enquiries and process payments.




Support reception and inbound enquiries when required (overflow during busy periods).
Work closely with Sales, Operations and Customer Service teams.
Maintain accurate records and identify opportunities to improve processes.
About You You'll bring: Experience in Credit, Collections, Accounts Receivable or a similar finance role - a banking / Credit Assesment background is also great!
Sound knowledge of credit assessment and debtor management.
Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Confidence using Microsoft Office and business systems.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage competing priorities.
