About the role This position is responsible for the management of Council's delegations, registers and legislative compliance obligations, the public access to Council information in accordance with the Governance Information (Public Access) Act and privacy legislation, Council Policy framework and preparation, and the delivery of major governance related projects.
In this role you will: Review and maintain governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice.
Deliver organisation-wide training on governance, policies, and legislative requirements.
Manage Council's legislative compliance obligations, delegations, and governance registers.
Provide expert advice on governance, including GIPA, privacy, and access to information matters.
Lead governance projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and reduce risk.

Location Convenience: Central Parramatta location, discounted parking, Novated leasing available Growth: Learning and development programs, leadership pathways, free LinkedIn Learning About you The successful candidate is someone who has: Contemporary knowledge and skills in legislative information access provisions including Local and State Government, GIPA and Privacy.
Highly developed oral and written communication, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills, and experience in working with clients, management and staff at all levels.
Highly developed ability to manage confidential and sensitive issues, utilising discretion, tact and diplomacy.
Ability to interpret and determine legislative impacts in relation to corporate governance responsibilities.
Experience in preparing reports, policies and correspondence in a local government context Contemporary knowledge, understanding and skills in policy review and corporate governance principles.
