THE ROLE
The Senior Policy Adviser works independently as part of a team to ensure the successful delivery of key national disability reform activities, including the Disability Royal Commission, the NDIS Review and the development of Foundational Supports.
The Senior Policy Officer will liaise across the Victorian Government and with the Commonwealth and states and territories in order to determine and influence the national agenda to align with Victoria's interests.
The work to develop and design Foundational Supports is complex, fast paced and requires sophisticated intragovernmental and interjurisdictional collaboration and leadership.
You will provide advice to Government on progressing priority areas relating to national reforms.
You will be required to demonstrate a sound understanding of the process for government responses to Royal Commissions and the issues and concerns facing the disability community.
You will be required to ensure high quality stakeholder engagement on the department's approach to implementation of recommendations from the government's response to the Disability Royal Commission and forthcoming response to the NDIS Review.
Drawing on your skills as an experienced Senior Policy Officer, you proactively develop strategic solutions and develop strong relationships across the Victorian Government and other states and territory governments.
Working in close partnership with stakeholders, you will develop,



analyse and coordinate complex information through liaison, negotiation and influence.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
* Provide authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and cutting-edge solutions to complex and sensitive issues based on comprehensive research.
* Develop a range of policy and legislative initiatives that meet government and departmental objectives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
* Monitor and report on high priority issues, risks and trends and prepare and present reports, ministerial briefs, Cabinet and agency submissions.
