Role: Senior Business Analyst Location: Sydney Contract Duration: 6 Months with high possible extensions Experience: 7+ Years Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong expertise in payment processing, scheme administration, regulatory services, and end-to-end business process analysis to support the BUS Schemes Transformation Program (BDA BOAS).
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, subject matter experts, architects, and delivery teams to define business requirements, analyse current and future state processes, identify opportunities for transformation, and ensure delivery of business outcomes aligned with operational, legislative, and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities: 7+ years of Business Analysis experience delivering large-scale business and technology transformation initiatives.
Demonstrated experience in payment processing, financial transactions, scheme administration, grants, subsidies, rebates, licensing, regulatory services, or customer service programs.
Solid experience in end-to-end business process analysis, including current state assessment, future state design, and process optimisation.
Experience eliciting and documenting complex business requirements and acceptance criteria.




Engage with business stakeholders, operational teams, product owners, and technical teams to elicit, analyse, validate, and document business requirements.
Lead discovery activities, workshops, interviews, and process walkthroughs to understand current and future state business processes.
Analyse end-to-end scheme processes including customer journeys, application assessment, payments, compliance, notifications, reviews, appeals, and operational support activities.
Facilitate design discussions between business and technology teams to ensure requirements are translated into effective solutions.
Analyse payment processing workflows, payment validations, reconciliation processes, exception handling, and operational controls.
Identify gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for process improvement and automation.
Support business readiness activities including operational procedures, training requirements, and stakeholder communications.
Work closely with architects, developers, testers, and vendors to ensure business requirements are accurately implemented.
Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect triage, and production readiness activities.
Assist with data migration, reporting, integration, and transition-to-business activities.
Conduct impact assessments for policy, legislative, operational, and technology changes.
