Full-time opportunity Make an impact working in a purpose driven environment This is a hands-on senior advisory role supporting power, water and essential services operations , with a particular focus on safety, compliance and risk management across electrical infrastructure and remote operational environments.
The position will work closely with operational leaders, contractors and frontline teams to ensure high-risk activities are completed safely and in accordance with relevant legislation, technical standards and asset-owner requirements.
The Role Reporting to the Director of Safety, you will provide specialist WHS advice and support across essential services operations, with responsibilities including: Providing expert WHS and risk management advice to operational leaders and frontline teams Supporting safety and standards compliance across power generation, electrical distribution, water and wastewater operations Reviewing and verifying safe systems of work for high-risk activities including electrical works, confined spaces, working at heights, excavation and chemical handling Supporting permit-to-work processes, contractor compliance, licences, competencies and authorisations Leading incident investigations and root cause analysis Conducting site inspections, behavioural observations and safety verifications Facilitating toolbox talks and supporting JHA/SWMS compliance Developing and implementing risk controls and WHS procedures Supporting internal and external audits and maintaining audit-ready compliance documentation Working closely with external stakeholders, regulators, contractors and infrastructure asset owners Supporting emergency response planning for essential service disruptions.




About You This role will suit an experienced safety professional who is comfortable operating in a technical, high-risk and field-based environment.
You will ideally bring: Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent Previous experience in a Senior WHS Advisor or similar position Strong knowledge of electrical infrastructure, utilities and/or essential services Understanding of electrical safety legislation, technical standards and secure working practices Experience supporting high-risk operational environments Exposure to contractor management and permit-to-work systems Strong incident investigation and risk management capability Experience supporting audits, compliance and safety management systems Excellent communication skills with the confidence to influence and respectfully challenge A collaborative approach and ability to build strong relationships across operational teams Relevant electrical, technical or compliance qualifications will be highly regarded.

The position is primarily based in Welshpool , with travel to remote Western Australian locations required as part of the role.
