With a robust Victorian store network, the business is looking for an experienced Area Manager to lead its Melbourne portfolio and drive performance across 14 stores.
About the Role Reporting to an incredible State Retail, the Victorian Area Manager is responsible for the commercial performance, people leadership, and operational standards of a 14-store network across Melbourne and surrounds.
This is a field-based, hands-on leadership role.
You'll be in stores regularly coaching managers, reading trade, and keeping the network running at a high standard.
You'll be equally comfortable analysing a P L as you are walking a shop floor, and you'll know how to bring out the best in store teams without losing sight of the numbers.
Key Responsibilities Sales Commercial Performance Take full accountability for sales targets, wage control, and profitability across the Victorian store network Analyse weekly and monthly trading results, identifying opportunities and acting on risks quickly Drive consistent improvement in conversion, ATV, and units per transaction across all stores Develop and implement strategies to maximise performance in each location, tailored to the local customer and market Report on regional performance to senior leadership with clarity and commercial insight Team Leadership Development Lead, coach, and develop a team of Store Managers to perform at their best Build a culture of accountability, high standards, and genuine customer focus across all 14 stores Support the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of store management and team members Conduct regular performance reviews and put development plans in place where needed Identify and develop future leaders within the network Customer Experience Standards Ensure every store delivers a consistent, welcoming customer experience that reflects the brand's down-to-earth character Hold the network to a high standard of store presentation,



visual merchandising, and product knowledge Champion a service culture where every customer feels valued regardless of what they're spending Operations Compliance Oversee store operations across the region including rostering, stock management, shrinkage, and loss prevention Ensure all stores operate in full compliance with company policy, WHS requirements, and relevant employment legislation Partner with the merchandise and operations teams to ensure product flow, stock levels, and store layouts are optimised Oversee the rollout of company initiatives, campaigns, and seasonal programs across the region Stakeholder Collaboration Work closely with HR, merchandise, marketing, and operations teams to align regional execution with broader business priorities Act as the key escalation point and voice of the Victorian network in leadership forums Feed on-the-ground insights back to head office to inform product, promotional, and operational decisions About You 5+ years of multi-site retail management experience, ideally across 8 or more stores A strong track record of driving sales growth and lifting store team performance Genuine commercial acumen you understand what moves the numbers and how to act on it A natural people leader with the ability to hold high standards while keeping teams motivated Deep understanding of value or volume retail you know this customer and how to serve them well Strong operational knowledge across stock, rostering, compliance, and loss prevention Excellent communicator at all levels, from the shop floor to senior leadership Highly organised and self-directed you manage your own time well across a large geographic patch Car and valid driver's licence required regular travel across Victorian stores is essential What's on Offer A key leadership role within a beloved, stable, and growing Australian retail business A genuine culture of integrity, hard work, and doing right by the customer Competitive salary package up to $100,000 + $15k car allowance pending experience Report to an incredible State Manager who genuinely cares about their people
