Our work involves the installation and finishing of plasterboard wall and ceiling systems across a range of construction projects.
This includes plasterboard partitions, suspended ceilings, cornices, acoustic and insulating materials, fire-rated systems and associated wall and ceiling linings.
The quality of our work depends upon experienced tradespeople who understand the complete wall and ceiling plastering process, from interpreting plans and determining plasterboard layouts through to measuring, cutting, fixing, setting and finishing plasterboard surfaces.
As the Company continues to undertake projects throughout Melbourne, we are seeking an experienced Plasterer (Wall and Ceiling) to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out skilled plastering and plasterboard installation works and ensuring that all wall and ceiling surfaces are completed accurately, safely and to the required standard.
Successful Candidates will be responsible for the following: Determining plasterboard layouts and preparing wall and ceiling areas prior to installation.
Installing insulation and vapour barriers as required for wall and ceiling systems.
Measuring, marking and cutting plasterboard to the dimensions required for walls, ceilings, partitions and other building areas.
Lifting,



positioning and securing plasterboard panels to walls, ceilings, battens and framing.
Installing plasterboard partitions and suspended ceiling systems in accordance with plans and project specifications.
Preparing, positioning and securing corner beads to wall and ceiling surfaces.
Fixing pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, ceiling centres and other plaster fittings.
Covering plasterboard joints, joins, fixings and nail holes using plaster, jointing compounds and sealing materials.
Sanding, smoothing and finishing plasterboard joints and surfaces to achieve a consistent and professional finish ready for painting or other finishes.
Plumbing and straightening corners, angles and wall and ceiling surfaces to ensure they are level, aligned and finished to the required standard.
Applying and finishing acoustic, insulating and fireproofing materials and systems used in wall and ceiling construction.
Installing and finishing fire-rated plasterboard systems, acoustic systems and composite wall linings where required by project specifications.
Reading and interpreting construction plans, drawings and specifications to determine plasterboard layouts, materials and installation requirements.
Inspecting completed plastering and plasterboard works and undertaking any necessary rectification to ensure surfaces and finishes meet the required standard.




Using plastering hand tools, power tools and associated equipment safely and effectively.
Ensuring all work is undertaken in accordance with applicable workplace health and safety requirements, site procedures and construction specifications.
Qualification: Relevant trade qualification, such as a Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
Salary: $95,****** per annum plus 12% superannuation.
Experience: A candidate is required to have at least two (2) years of relevant working experience in wall and ceiling plastering.
Successful candidates will have the following skills: Strong plasterboard fixing, setting and finishing skills.
Demonstrated ability to measure, mark, cut, position and secure plasterboard to walls and ceilings.
Experience installing plasterboard partitions, suspended ceilings, cornices and associated plaster fittings.
Experience preparing and installing corner beads and finishing joints, fixings and plasterboard surfaces.
Ability to plumb and straighten corners, angles, walls and ceiling surfaces to achieve accurate and professional finishes.
Knowledge of acoustic, insulating and fire-rated wall and ceiling systems.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings and specifications.
Solid attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
Sound knowledge of construction site safety requirements and the safe use of plastering tools and equipment.
Strong time management and organisational skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a construction team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
