As our organization continues to grow, we are looking for a Warehouse Leading Hand to join our teams at Wee-Waa NSW and Dalby QLD.
The Role The purpose of this role is to support the Warehouse Supervisor to carry out warehouse activities on day/night shift by ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and according to plan.
We are offering this role across several locations: Cecil Plains QLD **** Beardmore / St George QLD **** Moura QLD **** Emerald QLD **** Key Accountabilities: Support the safety culture and compliance onsite, ensuring safe work practices, incident reporting, toolbox talks, and implementation of procedures and best work practices.
Supervise seasonal teams during day and/or night shifts, allocate work tasks, and support inductions, training, and competency sign-offs.
Ensure effective communication of vehicle movements onsite and assist with traffic direction and safe truck loading and unloading activities.
Maintain knowledge of Chain of Responsibility requirements and ensure containers comply with mass, dimension, and load restraint requirements.
Assist with coordinating the movement and handling of incoming and outgoing cotton bales, including scanning bales and operating forklifts or loaders as required.
Observe and monitor stock on hand, inspect cotton bale condition, and verify inventory accuracy, order compliance, and export requirements.
Complete quality inspections of containers and cotton bales in accordance with DAFF policies and procedures and conduct weekly establishment inspections.
Operate and maintain warehouse machinery and equipment, including forklifts, loaders, and sweepers, and perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
Troubleshoot operational issues and resolve or escalate them to the Warehouse Supervisor as required to minimise disruptions and maintain workflow.
Understand and operate company data systems, including SAP, logistics systems, and third-party warehouse applications.
Share feedback and work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders to support continuous improvement of relationships, systems, practices, and operational outcomes.
Selection Criteria At least 1-2 years' experience working in a warehouse environment.
Demonstrated experience supervising and coordinating work teams.
Experience with container packing and loading operations is highly regarded.
Experience using SAP or similar inventory and logistics management systems is highly regarded.
Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
Understanding of shipment schedules, delivery deadlines, and workflow planning.
Strong aptitude for learning recent systems and processes.
Flexible and adaptable approach to changing operational requirements.
Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to undertake physically demanding tasks.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Sound computer literacy.
Current and valid driver's licence – preferred.
Current forklift licence – preferred.
Loader competency certification or the ability to obtain site-based competency sign-off – preferred.
Salary range : The ideal candidate will be receiving a salary within the range of $80,000 – $100,000 per annum.
