The role
We are searching for an exceptional Maintenance Handyperson to join our team at Melbourne Jet Base. This role offers a rare opportunity to work in a prestigious environment, supporting our state-of-the-art facilities. As a key contributor to the operations of Melbourne Jet Base, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks across our grounds and facilities, including our private FBO, aircraft maintenance hangars, numerous workshops, offices, and commercial buildings.
Your daily tasks will keep things interesting and varied – working with our team to ensure upkeep of our facilities, managing minor repairs, coordinating with contractors, and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our top-tier facility. This is a full time role (Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm) with a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and delivering high standards.
What you'll be doing
Conducting general maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, painting, and patching




Coordinating with contractors to support larger installations and repairs
Performing routine landscaping, such as mowing, trimming, and weeding
Cleaning and maintaining indoor and outdoor facilities, including the use of advanced cleaning equipment like walk-behind and ride-on scrubbers
Assisting with preventative maintenance and identifying repair needs
Supporting the team with materials handling and ensuring equipment is used safely
Managing and reporting any issues to ensure the facility remains operational and safe
What we're looking for
A proactive, reliable individual with a strong work ethic and practical maintenance skills
Someone comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team
Basic proficiency with hardware tools and power equipment
Adaptability to a dynamic work environment with shifting priorities
Robust communication skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards
The applicant must have the ability to meet security requirements, including passing a background check to obtain an ASIC card
