About the role
We are seeking a
Marketing Officer
to join our dynamic marketing and communications team at our Burwood campus. This is a
full-time or part-time position
that plays a vital role in promoting Waratah Polytechnic's programmes, services and achievements to prospective students, current learners, industry partners and the broader community. You will be responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns that enhance our brand visibility, attract recent enrolments and strengthen our reputation within the education sector. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the organisation's growth and success whilst working in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key responsibilities
Develop and implement marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including digital, social media, print and events, to promote our programmes and services
Create compelling marketing content such as social media posts, email newsletters, brochures, web copy and promotional materials that engage and inspire target audiences
Manage and maintain the organisation's social media presence, including content scheduling, community engagement and performance monitoring
Coordinate the planning and execution of marketing events, open days, promotional activities and student recruitment initiatives
Conduct market research and analyse competitor activity to identify opportunities for differentiation and growth
Collaborate with internal teams, including admissions, academic departments and senior leadership, to gather insights and align messaging with organisational goals
Monitor and evaluate the performance of marketing initiatives using analytics tools and reporting mechanisms to optimise future campaigns
Liaise with external stakeholders, including media, industry partners and community organisations, to build relationships and promote Waratah Polytechnic
Support the development and maintenance of marketing materials, databases and promotional resources
Contribute to the development of marketing strategies and annual marketing plans in consultation with senior colleagues
What we're looking for
Diploma or degree-level qualification in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related discipline
Proven experience in marketing, communications or a related role, preferably within the education, vocational training or professional services sector
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create engaging, clear and professional marketing content
Proficiency in social media management and familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok
Experience with digital marketing tools and platforms, including email marketing software, content management systems and analytics tools
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst meeting tight deadlines
Creative thinking and the ability to develop innovative marketing ideas and campaigns that capture attention and drive engagement
Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform marketing decisions and measure campaign effectiveness
Knowledge of the education sector, vocational training or student recruitment is advantageous
A collaborative approach to working, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships across teams
Flexibility, adaptability and a proactive attitude towards learning and professional development
Second language preference (either): Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Brazilian Portuguese, Bangladeshi, Thai, Filipino, Punjabi, or Hindi.
