Verve Partners
New South Wales
Verve Partners is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Control Systems Engineers, Automation Engineers and SCADA Engineers for upcoming opportunities across Newcastle and the broader Hunter region.
We are speaking with local engineering consultancies, systems integrators, equipment manufacturers and asset owners working across industries including mining, water and wastewater, manufacturing, materials handling, ports, energy and critical infrastructure.
These opportunities will suit engineers who have built a solid grounding in control systems and are ready to take greater ownership across project delivery.
You will have developed a strong technical foundation in industrial automation and now be looking for broader project exposure, increased responsibility and the opportunity to continue developing your engineering capability.
Responsibilities
will generally include:
Designing, developing and modifying PLC, SCADA and HMI systems
Programming and configuring industrial automation platforms
Developing control philosophies, functional descriptions and system architecture
Completing control system upgrades, migrations and modernisation projects
Preparing technical specifications, design documentation and test procedures
Conducting software simulation, FAT, SAT and commissioning activities
Troubleshooting control system, instrumentation and communications issues
Integrating PLCs, remote I/O, drives, instrumentation and third-party systems
Supporting operational sites with system optimisation and fault resolution
Working closely with electrical, instrumentation, process and project engineering teams
Building direct exposure to clients, operators, contractors and site stakeholders

Technical Experience
We are particularly interested in engineers with experience across:
PLC programming using Rockwell Allen-Bradley, Siemens or Schneider platforms
SCADA and HMI development, including Citect, AVEVA, FactoryTalk, WinCC or similar systems
Telemetry and remote monitoring/control systems, including RTUs, communications networks and remote assets
Industrial communications including Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet and DNP3
Instrumentation, process control and integration of field devices
FAT, SAT, commissioning and fault-finding across operational environments
You do not need experience across every platform. Solid PLC, SCADA and telemetry capability, combined with practical commissioning experience, will be highly regarded.
About You
Ideally, you will bring:
A degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Control Systems or a related engineering discipline
Hands‐on experience delivering industrial automation or control systems projects
The ability to work across design, programming, testing and commissioning
Confidence troubleshooting PLC, SCADA, telemetry and communications issues
Experience working independently on defined packages of engineering work
Strong technical documentation and communication skills
The confidence to engage with clients, site personnel and multidisciplinary engineering teams
A practical, safety‐focused approach to engineering
Australian working rights and the ability to attend local project or client sites when required
