e're seeking an experienced
AI Engineer
to design, build and deploy secure enterprise AI solutions within a large Federal Government environment. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge Generative AI initiatives that will shape how AI is adopted across a major organisation.
You'll work alongside architects, cyber security specialists, data teams and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, governed AI solutions using the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
What you'll be doing
Design and develop enterprise AI solutions using Azure AI services and Microsoft technologies.
Build AI agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions and intelligent business applications.
Develop APIs, integrations and microservices connecting AI capabilities with enterprise systems.
Implement vector search, document intelligence and data ingestion pipelines.
Conduct AI testing, evaluation and assurance including hallucination, bias and prompt injection testing.
Apply responsible AI, security, privacy and governance controls across AI solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify AI opportunities that improve productivity and business outcomes.
Produce technical documentation and support knowledge transfer across internal teams.
Skills & Experience
Commercial experience delivering enterprise AI solutions using
Azure AI Foundry
,
Azure OpenAI
and
Copilot Studio
.
Strong experience building
AI Agents
,




RAG solutions
and enterprise AI applications.
Python development experience with API frameworks such as
FastAPI
(or similar).
Experience integrating AI solutions with APIs, databases and enterprise applications.
Knowledge of vector search, document intelligence and AI orchestration frameworks.
Understanding of AI governance, responsible AI, security and privacy within regulated environments.
Robust stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Desirable
Microsoft Agent Framework, LangChain or similar agent frameworks.
.NET, Node.js or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience working in Australian Government or other highly regulated environments.
