CEALS Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a talented and passionate
Chef
to join our culinary team in Berwick, VIC. This is a
full-time position
that offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your cooking expertise and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences. As Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of food preparation, presentation and quality whilst leading kitchen operations and inspiring your team to culinary excellence.
What you'll be doing
Planning, preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentations standards
Overseeing food preparation processes to ensure consistency, quality and adherence to health and safety regulations
Managing kitchen inventory, stock rotation and ordering supplies to minimise waste whilst maintaining cost effectiveness
Training, supervising and mentoring kitchen staff to develop their skills and maintain high performance standards
Maintaining strict hygiene protocols and ensuring the kitchen environment meets all food safety requirements and standards
Collaborating with management to develop current menu items and seasonal specials that align with business objectives
Monitoring portion sizes and plating presentations to ensure all dishes meet company standards before service
Maintaining kitchen equipment and reporting any maintenance issues promptly to ensure smooth operations
Managing kitchen workflow during service periods to ensure timely and efficient food delivery
Responding to dietary requirements and special requests from guests whilst maintaining quality standards
What we're looking for
Formal culinary qualification or relevant hospitality training certification
Proven experience working in a professional kitchen environment, ideally 3+ years in a Chef or senior cooking role
Strong knowledge of food safety,



hygiene standards and compliance requirements (such as Food Safety Supervisor certification)
Proficiency in a range of cooking techniques and ability to prepare diverse cuisine types
Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop kitchen staff
Exceptional organisational and time management abilities, particularly during high-volume service periods
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with front-of-house and management teams
Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining the highest food quality and presentation standards
Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and operational demands
Current food handling and hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain if not currently held)
