Senior Business Advisor
Ongoing Full Time Opportunity
Office location: Newcastle or Parramatta
Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $133,348 to $146,945 plus super

In this role you will
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Business Advisor
to join our team and play a pivotal role in supporting executive decision-making, financial governance and business performance across a complex and diverse portfolio.
This is more than a traditional finance role. You'll be a trusted advisor to executives, leading strategic financial planning, forecasting and reporting while helping shape the future direction of the business through data-driven insights and strong stakeholder partnerships.
What You'll Be Doing
Partner with Leaders to Drive Better Decisions
You'll build strong relationships across the organisation, providing expert financial advice and strategic support to executives and senior stakeholders. Your ability to lead influence, collaborate and challenge constructively will help drive better commercial and operational outcomes.
Lead Forecasting, Budgeting and Financial Insights
As a key advisor, you'll coordinate budget development, forward estimates and forecasting activities, ensuring compliance with Treasury requirements and delivering robust financial analysis that supports evidence-based decision-making.
You will provide expert advice on:
Budget development and financial planning
Funding proposals and investment decisions
Financial performance management
high quality prime budget submissions
Risk management and financial governance
Transform Data into Actionable Insights
You'll lead the ongoing enhancement of reporting and analytics capability, ensuring leaders have access to timely, accurate and meaningful information.
Working across multiple systems and diverse datasets, you'll:
Develop and improve executive reporting
Deliver consolidated monthly performance insights




Enhance data analytics capability
Support informed strategic planning and resource allocation
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Deliver accurate monthly journal processing and maintained robust financial controls over the accounting system, ensuring the integrity of PO, GRN and related transactional data.

About you
We're looking for a highly capable finance professional who combines technical expertise with strong business partnering skills.
You will bring:
Extensive experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting
Advanced financial modelling, analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Proven ability to lead the team, influence and engage senior stakeholders in complex environments
Strong commercial acumen and the confidence to challenge and advise constructively
Experience developing insightful management reporting and executive commentary
Robust systems knowledge and the ability to work across multiple data sources to generate meaningful business insights
Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and critical deadlines
Essential
Tertiary qualifications in Finance or relevant field or equivalent experience.
Member of a recognised professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand
Current Drivers License and willingness to travel.
