We have NATA accredited (ISO/IEC *****) coal laboratories servicing all major coal ports in Australia and have significant involvement with the superintending of coal exported overseas, quality control at mine sites / power plants and borecore evaluation.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Preparation Supervisor to join our Gladstone team.
In this role, you will support the Business Manager in delivering high-quality, timely laboratory services, while leading a team to ensure accurate sampling, preparation, analysis, and reporting in line with international standards.You will play a key role in driving team performance, maintaining strong safety standards,
and supporting continuous improvement across operations.What you will doLead and coordinate daily preparation activities to ensure timely and accurate resultsSupervise coal sample preparation and testing in line with relevant standardsEnsure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality systemsPromote a strong safety culture, including risk identification and mitigationMonitor team performance and intervene where required to maintain safe work practicesMaintain and improve procedures, work instructions, and risk assessmentsSupport staff training, development, and competency assessmentsBuild strong relationships with internal teams and clientsContribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ad-hoc projectsQualificationsAbout YouMinimum 5 years' experience in coal laboratory operationsStrong knowledge of sampling, preparation, analysis, validation, and reportingExperience with quality and compliance systemsCert IV in Training and Assessment (or working towards) highly regardedStrong safety mindset with proven risk management capabilitySolid administrative and computer skills (Word, Excel, CCLAS)Proven ability to manage priorities and meet tight deadlinesStrong leadership, communication, and team development skillsThis is a fantastic chance to step into a leadership role where you can make a real impact.
