This position is based across Auburn Community Health Centre and Merrylands Community Health Centre, supporting families during the critical early years of a child's life.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Child and Family Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide advanced clinical leadership and specialised care to women, infants and families experiencing psychosocial, emotional or complex health needs during the perinatal period.
You will play a key role in strengthening family wellbeing,



supporting early intervention and enhancing the capability of Child and Family Health teams.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver specialised perinatal and infant mental health assessment, intervention and care planning
Provide expert consultation and clinical leadership for families with complex and vulnerable needs
Coordinate care and collaborate with internal and external partners to support integrated service delivery
Mentor and support Child and Family Health clinicians through education, guidance and clinical expertise
Identify and manage clinical risk while promoting child safety, wellbeing and positive family outcomes
Essential Criteria
License: NSW Class C driver's licence
Qualification: Postgraduate qualification in Child and Family Health Nursing and postgraduate certificate in Perinatal and Infant mental health or working towards completion within 12 months of employment
Registration: Current enrolment with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse Division 1
Selection Criteria
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) plus post‐graduate qualifications in child and family health nursing with at least 3 years full‐time equivalent clinical experience and postgraduate certificate in Perinatal and infant mental health or working towards completion within 12 months of employment.
Demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with the Registered Nurse Standards of Practice,



Code of Ethics for Nurses and Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia).
Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and expertise and ability to provide complex care planning for children and their families with psychosocial or emotional vulnerabilities.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively both independently and as part of the multidisciplinary health care team.
Demonstrated clinical expertise and the ability to lead and foster innovation and quality improvement to enhance care provision within child and family health models of care and service delivery.
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership including education and skill development within the specialty of child and family health during the perinatal period.
Highly developed communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) including proficiency in clinical documentation and use of information technology.
Advanced assessment and identification of risk, vulnerability, and safety concerns for children and young people and skilled application of mandatory reporting requirements, risk of significant harm (ROSH) assessments, and documentation.
