OverviewSustainability Advisor / Sustainability Coordinator – Construction / Building – Northamptonshire + Hybrid / RemoteOpportunity for a permanent Sustainability Coordinator / Sustainability Consultant to join one of the UK's most successful Tier 1 building & civil engineering main contractors, with a very secure and fast growing forward order book.CompanyLeading Tier 1 Building main contractor.
This is a desirable opportunity with strong staff retention, a stable workload, a professional and friendly team environment, prompt payment to subcontractors and suppliers, and opportunities for career progression.RoleAs Sustainability Advisor your duties will include:Measuring and recording the company's operational carbon footprint – Scopes 1 & 2, 3Coordinating the business Green Supply Chain, operational carbon footprint data – Scopes 1, 2 & 3Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting / Energy Saving Opportunity data collectionCoordinating operational reporting requirements and reviewing actions needed for the year aheadEnsuring carbon factors are up to date in line with DEFRA / BEISAssisting with development of operational reporting processesLiaising with internal teams during data collection and analysing dataLiaising with external suppliers to capture and analyse dataLiaising with the supply chain to collect the company's Scope 3 GHG emissionsUnderstanding GHG protocol and working within the guidelinesKeeping up to date with data and guidelines from BEIS / Government / other relevant bodiesEnsuring use of appropriate evidence for reporting and maintaining data accuracyEnsuring data quality for carbon reportingGenerating innovative ideas to help reduce carbon emissions in the industryLiaising with other departments to improve collection, input and reporting of Sustainability and Net Zero dataSupporting the business targets to achieve carbon-zero by ****Staying up to date with new technology, innovations and best practice in the industryDelivering Sustainability inductions to new startersGeneral Sustainability / NZ / ESG supportActing as a Sustainability / NZ champion within the businessLocationRole is a mix of Northampton office, site visits and remote work; must be flexible to travel.RequirementsTo be considered for this Sustainability Advisor role you must meet the following criteria:Previous work in a Sustainability Advisor / Coordinator / Sustainability Consultant or similar roleGenuine passion for sustainabilityUnderstanding of the principles of Sustainability and Net ZeroUnderstanding of Net Zero frameworksUnderstanding of GHG emission reporting – Scope 1, 2 & 3Excel level 3Analytical skills and ability to create formulasAbility to prioritise workload to meet deadlinesData / statistical analysis / reportingRemunerationThe successful Sustainability Advisor will receive:Competitive salaryCar allowanceBonus (two per year, as described)How to applyTo be considered for this vacancy or to find out more information please apply now.
