Pinetrees Lodge is an iconic sixth-generation family business on Lord Howe Island. We've been operating for over 120 years and have a reputation for fine food and personalised service. Many of our guests return to Pinetrees every year.

We are currently seeking a Chef de Partie to join a small, well-skilled and motivated team of chefs and kitchen staff. This position is available from 13 September 2026. Pinetrees closes for the winter on 23 May 2027.

We're looking for a Chef who can assist the Executive Chef to:

/n

/n

- run a boutique lodge kitchen that provides all meals for up to 75 guests;

/n

- prepare classic and creative meals with a focus on simple, fragrant and healthy food, and authentic regional dishes;

/n

- prepare food that meets various dietary requirements;

/n

- control stock and order supplies on a remote island with fortnightly supplies; and

/n

- enforce food hygiene and safety standards.

We are looking for the following work experience, skills and education:

/n

/n

- Certificate III or Certificate IVin Commercial Cookery, or equivalent experience;

/n

- recent, relevant experience as a Chef in a well-regarded restaurant or hotel;

/n

- excellent planning and organisational skills;

/n





- ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; and

/n

- motivated, productive and willing to contribute to the kitchen team and culture

We're a small team in a remote place, so you must be self-motivated, dedicated and comfortable living in a small island community. If you love fishing, diving, swimming, surfing or bush walking, this could be the perfect role for you.

The salary for this role is $76,000 pa + superannuation. Pinetrees Lodge will provide on-site accommodation and all meals and pay the initial airfare to Lord Howe Island from Sydney. With such low living expenses, this is an excellent opportunity to save for a house deposit or an amazing trip.
