Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Care Worker to join the team at MeCare Pty Ltd in Berkeley (Illawarra region) and Cessnock (Hunter Valley), NSW. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of residents.
As a Residential Care Worker, you will provide essential support and care to individuals in our residential facility, helping them maintain their dignity, independence and quality of life. This role is integral to our mission of delivering high-quality aged and disability support services to our community.

Key responsibilities
/n
Provide direct personal care and support to residents, including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
/n
Help residents with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
/n
Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic residential environment in accordance with health and safety standards
/n
Support residents' social engagement and recreational activities to promote wellbeing and social connection
/n
Communicate effectively with residents, families and the broader care team to ensure coordinated and person-centred care
/n
Monitor and report on residents' health, wellbeing and any changes in their condition
/n
Assist with meal preparation and support residents during mealtimes as required
/n
Respect residents' privacy, dignity and individual preferences in all aspects of care delivery
/n
Follow established care plans and procedures, including infection control and safety protocols
/n
Contribute to a supportive and inclusive team environment
/n
What we're looking for
/n
A genuine passion for caring for others and commitment to delivering compassionate, person-centred support
/n
Certificate III in Aged Care or Certificate III in Disability Support (or equivalent qualification)
/n
Current First Aid and CPR certification
/n
Experience working in aged care, disability support or a related health and social care setting
/n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with residents and colleagues
/n
Physical ability to assist residents with mobility and personal care tasks
/n
A flexible approach to work and willingness to adapt to the changing needs of residents
/n
Reliability and punctuality, particularly important in a casual role
/n
Understanding of and commitment to duty of care, privacy and confidentiality
/n
NDIS Worker Check, Working with Children Check (WWC), Police Check or willingness to obtain one
/n
A current and valid driver's licence is advantageous
/n
