About the Team

The role sits within Research Grants and Development unit in the Research Office. The team supports all research grant funding activities across the university to enable quality research grant development, submission and successful funding outcomes as well as research capability development.

Job Purpose

This role provides strategic advice and support in relation to research funding opportunities to enhance research funding performance and impact. It contributes to the University's research capability development program and partners with the research community to build capability and support high quality funding applications.

Detailed Description

Role Responsibilities

Provide expert strategic and funding policy advice, and make recommendations and implement strategies to improve research funding competitiveness across all funding types.

Partner with colleagues to plan and deliver funding rounds and strategic initiatives across the research lifecycle.

Provide strategic advice and support to researchers in developing and submitting funding proposals.





Contribute to the design and delivery of research capability development programs including content development, workshops and seminars.

Collaborate across the Research Office and broader university to deliver coordinated support services and improvement initiatives.

Represent the Research Office in internal and external engagements and working groups.

Skills, Attributes and Knowledge

Robust interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders.

Ability to interpret policy and provide strategic advice to support decision making.

Well developed analytical and problem solving skills.

Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.

Knowledge of research funding processes and the research grant lifecycle.

Understanding of the higher education sector and research funding landscape.

Experience

Experience providing strategic advice on research funding applications and proposals.

Experience contributing to research support programs or operational initiatives.

Experience building effective working relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.

Experience analysing data and implementing improvements in a complex environment.

Experience supporting or delivering training or development activities for researchers.

Qualifications

Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Remuneration/Salary

What We Offer

Base Salary Range: $143,080.00 - $149,894.00 (HEW9) plus 17% superannuation (pension)

The position is full time and will be made on a continuing basis.
