Job Description:

Specialist Rehabilitation Physician

35 hours per fortnight Fractional/Fixed Term until 31 December 2026

Unit Description:

The Specialist Rehabilitation Physician provides consultant leadership across the Department of Rehabilitation, delivering specialist rehabilitation services within inpatient, consultative liaison and ambulatory settings. The role contributes to high-quality, patient-centred rehabilitation care through clinical service delivery, multidisciplinary collaboration, teaching, research, quality improvement and service development.
About the role:
The successful applicant(s) will contribute to a broad Rehabilitation Medicine service, including inpatient rehabilitation (on rotation), consultative liaison rehabilitation (on rotation), and/or specialist outpatient rehabilitation clinics.
The role also provides opportunities to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and service development.
Clinical responsibilities include:





- Providing consultant rehabilitation services across rotational inpatient rehabilitation, RMH Rehabilitation@Home, CLRAAC and specialist outpatient rehabilitation clinics, as rostered.
- Undertaking comprehensive rehabilitation assessments and developing individualised, goal-directed management plans.
- Coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams, community rehabilitation services, primary care providers and other specialist services.
- Participating in multidisciplinary case conferences, family meetings and collaborative care planning.
- Supervising and teaching AFRM trainees and junior medical staff.
- Participating in quality improvement, service development and research activities

About You:

- Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM)
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality patient-centred rehabilitation care
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team skills

- Interest in teaching, quality improvement and research
