We're excited to welcome a Registered Nurse to our Cultural Healing Program, Mental Health and Specialised Services.

This is a unique opportunity for an Identified Registered Nurse (RN) to work with the Gympie Cultural Healing Program (Aboriginal and Torres Islander Mental Health). The service provides outreach mental health services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community within the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service, and specifically the Gympie region.

Key Responsibilities include:

- The Registered Nurse Community works within the Cultural Healing Team.
- The Cultural Healing Team provides triage and assessment in addition to case management services for adults 18-65 years of age, who are experiencing moderate to severe impairment in functioning due to mental illness and have difficulty accessing and maintaining social supports.
- The service provides the opportunity for the consumer to complete individual recovery and relapse prevention plans, receive evidence based therapeutic interventions, education regarding mental illness and contemporary treatment options, information and referral to other specialist organisations (government and non- government) as well as education, consultation and support for families and carers.
- Education on the Mental Health Act 2016 is provided. The service is recovery oriented, person centred, family inclusive,



collaborative and empowering; and operates on the premise that consumers can and do recover from mental illness and drug related disorders.

Under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community

Salary between $3165.20 - $3358.70 p.f., employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 5) (Fixed term temporary position available for seven months).
