Join Indooroopilly State High School as a Teacher Aide and support the delivery of high‑quality learning experiences.
You’ll assist teachers by preparing learning materials, maintaining work areas, and supporting hands‑on activities within the Industrial Technologies & Design department. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, classroom‑ready work and contributing to a dynamic secondary school workplace. You’ll report to the principal or their delegate and play an important part in helping teachers create engaging, well‑organised learning spaces.
This position is being offered in a Permanent Part- Time capacity (0.47FTE), 36 hours per fortnight.

Your opportunity:
As the Teacher Aide, your responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Maintain workshop tools, machines and equipment through regular sharpening, servicing and repairs.
- Prepare materials for student projects,
including cutting, building jigs/fixtures, and organising consumables.
- Keep workshops, storage areas and resource rooms tidy, organised and well‑stocked.
- Manage equipment and assets by engraving/labeling new items, replacing missing tools, and supporting annual stocktake.
- Oversee safe storage and replenishment of materials such as timber, steel, plastics, adhesives and finishes.
- Identify purchasing needs and report damage or maintenance issues to the HOD or teachers.
- Maintain compliance records, including updating the Chemical Register and completing Equipment Maintenance Reports.
- Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member
