Help strengthen governance and oversight for one of Australia's leading youth and community service organisations.

yourtown is seeking expressions of interest from experienced finance professionals to join its finance and risk committee (FRC) as an independent external committee member.

About the role

The finance and risk committee supports the board in overseeing financial sustainability, risk management, audit, compliance, investments and organisational performance. The committee plays a critical role in ensuring yourtown continues to deliver positive outcomes for children, young people, families and communities across Australia.

As an external committee member, you will provide independent expertise and strategic advice in relation to:

- Financial performance and sustainability
- Budgeting and financial reporting
- Enterprise risk management
- Audit and compliance
- Internal controls and governance
- Investment and treasury oversight
- Emerging risks and strategic opportunities.

Committee meetings are generally held four times per year, with meetings conducted virtually with occasional in-person attendance opportunities.

About you

We are seeking candidates who:





- Hold current membership as a certified practising accountant (CPA) or chartered accountant (CA)
- Have significant senior executive finance experience, preferably as a chief financial officer, finance director or equivalent
- Bring experience in governance, audit, risk and compliance oversight
- Demonstrate strong strategic thinking, sound judgement and collaborative leadership
- Are passionate about contributing to an organisation that supports children and young people to thrive.
