Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Registered Nurses to join the Virtual Emergency Department as part of the nursing education team.

About the Role:
Exciting opportunities exist for experienced Critical Care Registered Nurses to join the Virtual Emergency Department (VED) at Northern Health as a Clinical Support Nurse. This is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that flourishes on innovation and ideas.
The VED is a 24-hour service providing video consultations to patients and Healthcare professionals within Victoria.
The Virtual Registered Nurse is responsible for providing timely patient assessment and triage of adult and paediatric patients and providing appropriate healthcare advice in line with the relevant scope of practise and initiate appropriate referral pathways.
The Registered Nurse works as part of a virtual multidisciplinary team, including clerical, pharmacy, nurse practitioners and medical clinicians.
The Clinical Support Nurse (CSN) is an important leader within the Virtual Emergency Department (VED) team, and a role model of excellence in practice and life-long learning. This role is to support the education needs of the VED within Northern Health. The role will support the VED workforce to build capability through staff education and ongoing training and support.
As a member of the VED Education team, this key role will primarily assist in anticipating and responding to the educational needs of the VED within Northern Health. The role will support the VED workforce to build capability through staff education and training support. This role involves supporting performance review by facilitating appropriate appraisal processes and providing formative and summative feedback as required.
Onsite requirements in Epping may be required to facilitate staff education at times and are rostered in advance.
The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
The role can be performed onsite or from home. Onsite working space is available at Northern Health, Epping, Victoria.
Work from home set up must be supplied by the individual, and is subject to meeting IT requirements and approval of OHS and must include:
- Minimum of 2 connected screens monitors
- Reliable and fast internet access
- Private and confidential workspace
- Access to make phone calls
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A minimum of four years post registration experience as a Registered Nurse
- Must have current or recent experience working in a critical care nursing environment such as Emergency or ICU
- Critical Care postgraduate qualification
- Relevant experience in clinical education and knowledge of education programs and supervision
- Demonstrated ability to independently undertake comprehensive and timely patient assessments (adult and paediatric)
- Advanced IT skill
