The Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate practitioner to be part of a supportive team. Working under the guidance of experienced managers and Team Leader, you will provide specialist domestic and family violence services to victim-survivors, including crisis response, risk assessment, safety planning, case management, and court support.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role and you will collaborate with internal colleagues, community agencies, and the Courts to deliver joined-up, victim-centred responses to DFV — including attending the Specialist DFV Court, Criminal Court, and Family Law Court to support clients in real time.

Key Responsibilities

- Apply a trauma-informed lens to deliver crisis responses including risk and needs assessments, safety planning, and support plans
- Deliver services grounded in feminist analysis and understanding of the gendered nature of domestic and family violence
- Provide dynamic risk assessment and ongoing monitoring of clients' situations and safety plans
- Coordinate short-term emergency accommodation placements and home safety upgrades
- Provide assistance and information regarding protection orders and court-related matters
- Respond to QPS Redbourne aggrieved referrals and referrals from other services
- Attend Specialist DFV Court, Criminal Court,



and Family Law Court to support aggrieved clients
- Support client referrals and assist with navigating service systems, including applications for support packages

About You
You are a skilled, resilient, and values-driven advocate who is passionate about ending domestic and family violence. You bring a deep understanding of trauma, strong assessment and case management skills, and a genuine commitment to working respectfully and effectively with victim-survivors, including First Nations communities.

Key Selection Criteria

- A qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related discipline, and/or a minimum of 2 years' full-time equivalent qualified experience in a relevant human services role
- Knowledge of the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012, Child Protection Act 1999, Common Risk Assessment Framework, and DFV Information Sharing Guidelines
- Demonstrated experience in DFV risk assessment, safety planning, and trauma-informed case management
- Highly developed counselling, advocacy, and communication skills — able to convey complex information sensitively, including in heightened states of distress
- Understanding of the gendered nature of DFV and the impacts of trauma, including intergenerational trauma on First Nations peoples
