The Opportunity:

Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD) is seeking experienced Consultants and VMOs to provide locum support across a range of departments.

Shifts are available throughout 2026, with the flexibility to take on short-term bookings, block rosters, or repeat locum placements.

Current demand includes coverage in Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Anaesthetics, ICU, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and more.

Clinical Setting:

- Mix of regional base hospitals and smaller rural facilities
- Consultant-led shifts with junior medical support or solo coverage depending on site
- Elective lists, inpatient, procedural and after-hours work available
- Supportive nursing and allied health teams with strong escalation pathways

Eligibility Criteria:

- AHPRA Specialist Registration
- Fellowship with the relevant college (e.g. FACEM, FRACP, FANZCA, FRANZCOG)
- Comfortable working independently and/or supervising junior staff
- NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
- Willingness to complete required credentialing and online modules
