About the role
Pantoro Limited is seeking an experienced Mine Surveyor to join our Open Pit team in Norseman, Western Australia. The Mine Surveyor will play a critical role in ensuring accurate spatial data collection, mapping, and positioning activities across our mining operations. You will be responsible for maintaining survey standards, managing surveying equipment, and providing essential survey support to enable safe and effective mining operations. This role is fundamental to our operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct field surveys using modern surveying equipment and technologies to establish and maintain survey control networks across the mine site
- Perform mine mapping and volumetric calculations to support production planning and operational decision making
- Manage and maintain surveying instruments, including GPS, total stations, and laser scanning equipment, ensuring they are calibrated and fit for purpose
- Produce accurate survey reports, mine plans, and technical documentation in accordance with company standards and industry best practice
- Collaborate with mining engineering, geology, and production teams to ensure survey data meets operational requirements
- Monitor compliance with surveying standards and safety protocols on site
- Establish and maintain survey monuments and control points throughout the mining operation
- Support mine closure and rehabilitation planning through accurate spatial documentation
- Undertake training and mentoring of junior surveying staff as required
What we're looking for
- Formal qualification in surveying, mining surveying or related discipline (Diploma or Degree level)
- Minimum 3-5 years' relevant experience in mine surveying or open pit mining surveying operations
- Proficiency with surveying software and industry standard systems including mining specific applications
- Strong competency with GPS, total stations, and laser scanning technologies
- Demonstrated experience in mine mapping, grade control surveying, and pit boundary establishment
- Knowledge of mining regulations, safety standards, and surveying best practice in Western Australian operations
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all surveying work
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to work on a remote mine site
