Lead One of the Sunshine Coast's Most Unique Food & Beverage Experiences

Located within the Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel precinct, First Avenue Bar + Cellar is a destination for the curious. Part cellar door, part neighbourhood bar and restaurant, First Avenue celebrates flavour, discovery, and connection through exceptional beverages and produce-led food inspired by the Sunshine Coast and its surrounds.

We're seeking an experienced and passionate Venue Manager to lead the venue, drive commercial performance, and create an experience that keeps guests coming back. This is an exciting chance for someone who combines strong operational leadership with a genuine love of wine, spirits, and hospitality.

As Venue Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance of First Avenue Bar + Cellar, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong financial results, and a culture centred around knowledge, service, and development.

This is a hands on leadership role requiring equal parts floor presence, commercial thinking, and team development. You will work closely with the Leadership Team, Head Chef, and venue leaders across the KPAT portfolio to enhance and evolve the group's beverage offering.

The successful candidate will oversee both the retail cellar and bar restaurant operations while helping shape the broader KPAT Hotels beverage program across the group.

What We're Looking For

• Lead the day-to-day operations of First Avenue Bar + Cellar

• Drive venue performance through strong leadership, service standards, and commercial decision-making





• Develop and maintain an exceptional beverage program across wine, spirits, beer, and non-alcoholic offerings

• Train, mentor, and develop a passionate and knowledgeable front of house team

• Work closely with the culinary team to create beverage pairings and guest experiences

• Manage labour, COGS, purchasing, stock control, and inventory performance

• Build strong relationships with local suppliers, wineries, brewers, and producers

• Oversee cellar operations, retail sales performance, and stock management

• Support and contribute to the development of KPAT Hotels' broader wine and beverage strategy

• Ensure compliance with all RSA, licensing, and company standards

• Drive local engagement and create memorable experiences for guests and the community

Key Responsibilities

• Proven experience as a Venue Manager, Sommelier, Restaurant Manager, Bar Manager, or similar leadership role

• Strong wine and beverage knowledge with a genuine passion for the industry

• Commercially minded with experience managing labour, stock, and financial performance

• Experience leading, coaching, and developing high performing teams

• Strong understanding of premium hospitality and guest experience delivery





• Excellent communication and relationship building skills

• Experience in beverage program development highly regarded

• A hands on leader who enjoys being present on the floor and leading by example

• WSET or other beverage qualifications are highly advantageous

• Current RSA and full Australian working rights
