About Opportunity

This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of healthcare across one of Australia's largest and most diverse Local Health Districts. As the Director Clinical Service Planning and Delivery, you will lead the strategic development of clinical services that will influence how healthcare is planned, delivered and experienced across Hunter New England Local Health District. Working at the intersection of clinical service planning, facility planning and strategic planning, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our health services evolve to meet the changing needs of our communities. You'll lead the development of effective planning systems and processes that guide the strategic direction of health service delivery while supporting the successful delivery of major capital works and redevelopment projects across the district. This is a unique opportunity to influence the future clinical footprint of Hunter New England, ensuring services are creative, sustainable and aligned with contemporary models of care.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Director, Infrastructure, Planning and Sustainability, you will provide strategic leadership across the planning lifecycle from clinical service planning through to implementation and delivery.

In this role, you will:

- Develop and implement Hunter New England Local Health District Clinical Service Planning strategies that align with the NSW Health 20-Year Health Infrastructure Strategy and the Hunter New England Local Health District Strategic Plan.





- Lead the implementation of strategic service planning from concept through to delivery.

- Provide expert advice to the Board, District Executive and senior leaders on clinical service planning and the implications of Ministry of Health policy.

- Ensure health service plans optimise existing facilities while supporting the successful delivery of major capital redevelopment projects and organisational priorities.

- Analyse and interpret complex health service data to inform strategic decision-making and future service directions.

- Maintain knowledge of contemporary models of care, workforce planning and emerging trends in health service delivery.

- Build and strengthen collaborative partnerships across clinical, operational and planning networks to achieve integrated service planning and improved outcomes for patients, staff and the district.

Leading a highly specialised team that evolves alongside the district's capital works program, you will inspire and guide your people through periods of change, creating a shared vision that connects strategic planning with meaningful service delivery outcomes.

About You

You're a strategic and collaborative leader who can see beyond today's challenges to shape tomorrow's healthcare landscape. You are an exceptional communicator who can confidently engage with executive leaders, clinicians and key stakeholders, building trusted relationships and bringing people together around a shared vision. You can lead teams through change, supporting and developing others while creating alignment between organisational priorities and service delivery outcomes.

You'll also bring:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in health planning and health service management.

- Demonstrated expertise in clinical service planning, strategic planning and data-driven decision-making.

- Strong leadership experience managing complex projects and competing priorities.

- A collaborative approach, working across health service planning networks to share ideas, drive innovation and improve outcomes.

- An open-minded and visionary outlook, with the ability to identify opportunities that will shape the future of healthcare delivery across the district
