Public Sector People are partnering with a metropolitan Melbourne council to recruit an experienced Strategic Open Space Planner for a long-term contract through to approximately June 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a significant urban renewal precinct, helping shape the future delivery of public open space, recreation facilities and community infrastructure.

About the Role You will:

- Develop strategic open space and recreation planning
- Help determine future open space and facility requirements
- Contribute to concept designs, masterplans and precinct planning
- Provide strategic and design input into future public spaces
- Manage projects and external consultants
- Work closely with Council, government and community stakeholders
- Prepare clear reports, strategies and presentations

About You We're looking for someone with:





- Experience in strategic open space planning
- A background in landscape architecture, landscape design, urban design or planning
- Strong project management and strategic thinking skills
- Experience developing plans, strategies or masterplans
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Government experience highly regarded
