Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Master Dental Technician to technically lead and oversee our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility within our dental laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a superior background in dental technology, a deep understanding of digital dentistry, and advanced expertise in all technical areas of dental technology. Your primary focus is on the manufacturing of high end dental prosthesis within aesthetic and functional context and partially be responsible for the oversight of the daily operations of the departments, streamlining workflows to maximise efficiency and accuracy as well as apply yourself to quality control. Further objective is to up-skill individual dental technicians and support their professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Relevant diploma or equivalent qualification (preferred)
Skills/Experience Required For This Position:
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Vast knowledge and understanding of Implant Systems such as Straumann, MIS, Astra, Nobel, Southern Implants, Implant Direct, Osstem, Biohorizon, Neoss, Neodent, Zimmer and third-party suppliers like Medentika, Dess, Dynamic and local providers Partmaker.
- Knowledge of various materials used in dental restorations (zirconia, ceramics, etc.).
- Experience in implementing methodologies for process improvement.
- Extensive work experience within a dental clinic environment
- Strong understanding of business management
- Open to learning different OS to navigate workflow.
- Multilingual
- Understanding medical certificates and dental diagnosis.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and external partners.
- Ability to read x-rays and CT scans.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to prioritise multiple projects effectively.
- Extensive experience in dental laboratory work, with a strong focus on CAD/CAM technology and highend metal structures.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in digital dentistry and introduce new technologies and techniques.
- Up to date understanding of Investing, Casting(flame/centrifugal and induction vacuum/pressure), Pressing, Geschiebetechnik, Teleskoptechnik.
- Advanced understanding of tool mechanics
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Expertise in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Exocad, 3Shape, Sirona, Exocam, Blender,…)
- Drivers License
Key Responsibilities:
Dental Technology Expertise
- Utilise advanced CAD/CAM software to design and produce dental restorations with precision and efficiency.
- Design crowns, bridges, onlays, inlays, veneers, implant crowns, implant bridges, hybrid bridges, dentures, orthodontic cases, splints, night guards, precision attachments, telescopic crowns, bars, superstructures.
- Manufacture dental restorations such as crowns, bridges, onlays, inlays, veneers, implant crowns, implant bridges, hybrid bridges, dentures, orthodontic cases, splints, night guards, precision attachments, telescopic crowns, bars, superstructures.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to equipment and software, ensuring minimal downtime.
- In depth understanding of machine maintenance and service protocols.
- Material handling of alloys, ceramics, machined materials, 3d printer resins Refine 3d print processes and keep existing workflows uninterrupted.
- Maintain and service tools and workstation
- Design partial CoCr dentures via CAD
- Repair and maintain dentures, implant bridges
- Recondition implant bridges, hybrid bridges and removable super structures
- Take photographs of cases for records
- Administer shade appointments to patients.
Dental Lab Organisation:
- Utilise the internal lab management software to follow prescribed procedures and contribute to accurate note taking.
- Monitor inventory of materials and supplies necessary for the entire dental laboratory in teamwork with department leaders, ensuring timely procurement.
- Coordinate with other departments and clinicians to manage case deadlines and prioritise workloads effectively. o Maintain comprehensive records of production, ensuring all cases meet regulatory standards and are tracked appropriately.
- Continue and refine organised workflows to optimise production efficiency while maintaining accuracy.
Quality Assurance:
- Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure that all restorations meet or exceed industry standards.
- Perform final inspections on digital models and physical restorations to ensure precision and client satisfaction.
- Address and resolve any quality issues in a timely manner, providing feedback to technicians to improve future outcomes.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvements and implement new systems to enhance overall productivity and quality.
- Organise regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and innovations within the dental laboratory.
Leadership:
- Assist in overseeing the manufacturing floor including workflow management, staff supervision, and quality control.
- Train, mentor, and support junior staff in manufacturing processes and software utilisation.
- Collaborate with management and departments to ensure seamless communication and production.
