Make a meaningful difference by helping create a more inclusive, equitable and culturally safe community. In this rewarding role, you'll lead initiatives that strengthen outcomes for First Nations Peoples and support diversity, equity and inclusion across Clarence City Council and the wider community.

What you’ll be doing

- Lead the implementation and ongoing development of Council's Reconciliation Action Plan.

- Develop and deliver community development projects that promote diversity, inclusion, cultural safety and participation.

- Build strong partnerships with First Nations communities, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, LGBTIQA+ communities and key stakeholders.

- Provide specialist advice, training and resources to build Council's capability in diversity, equity and inclusion.

- Research emerging issues and develop policies, strategies and initiatives that support organisational capacity, and inclusive communities.

- Manage projects from planning through to evaluation, including reporting, budgets and stakeholder engagement.

What you’ll bring

- Qualifications in community development, social sciences, human services, public policy or a related field (or equivalent experience).

- Experience delivering community development, diversity and inclusion program and/or policy initiatives.

- Strong understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion principles, including culturally safe practice.

- Experience building collaborative relationships with community organisations and stakeholders.

- Excellent project management, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

- National police check certificate dated within 6 months and a registration to work with vulnerable people in Tasmania.

- Base salary between $96,696.79 and $107,484.22 (depending on skills and experience) + 13.5% superannuation
