AWX Executive is urgently seeking 2 experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I;) Technicians for a major gas plant construction project in the Northern Territory.
This is a hands-on construction role requiring technicians who can work across both electrical and instrumentation scopes. The project is currently scheduled through to approximately the end of November 2026, with potential commissioning work to follow.
The Role You will be working on the installation and construction of a gas processing facility incorporating both new and existing plant.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Electrical and instrumentation installation
- Instrument installation, termination and testing
- Cable installation, glanding and termination
- Instrument loop checking and testing
- Calibration and functional testing of instrumentation
- Reading and interpreting electrical and instrumentation drawings, P&IDs; and schematics
- Installation and connection of field instrumentation
- Working across switchrooms, compressors, coolers, metering skids and associated process equipment
- Fault finding and rectification
- Pre-commissioning and commissioning support
- Working alongside electricians, instrument technicians and other construction trades
- Completing works safely and within tight project deadlines
This is not a commissioning-only role. Candidates must be comfortable completing hands-on construction and installation work throughout the project.
Roster & Package
- $90 per hour flat rate
- Approximately 22 days on / 6 days off
- Up to 12-hour shifts
- Paid travel time
- Flights provided

- Remote/dry camp environment
- Project expected to run through to end of November 2026
- Potential commissioning work following the construction phase
At 12 hours per day, potential gross earnings are approximately $23,760 per 22-day swing, subject to actual hours worked and travel arrangements.
What We're Looking For To be considered, you will ideally have:
- Australian-recognised electrical trade qualification
- Instrumentation qualification / Certificate III or equivalent
- Appropriate electrical licence to undertake work in the Northern Territory
- Current EEHA / Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas qualification
- Current White Card
- Strong E&I; construction experience
- Industrial electrical and instrumentation installation experience
- Experience with field instrumentation, terminations, testing and calibration
- Ability to interpret P&IDs;, schematics and technical drawings
- Oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical, mining or heavy industrial experience highly regarded
- Previous gas/process plant construction experience advantageous
- Ability to work a demanding FIFO roster in a remote workplace
- Strong safety focus and work ethic
- Valid Australian working rights
