AWX Executive is urgently seeking 4 experienced Electricians for a major gas plant construction project in the Northern Territory.
This is a short-term FIFO opportunity running through to approximately the end of November 2026, with potential commissioning work to follow. We are looking for experienced, hands-on electricians who are comfortable working in a remote construction environment and can hit the ground running.
The Role You will be working as part of the electrical team on the installation and construction of a gas processing facility, including a combination of new and existing plant and equipment.
Duties may include:
- Electrical installation and construction works
- Cable installation, glanding and termination
- Switchroom and electrical equipment installation
- Installation and connection of motors, compressors, coolers and associated plant
- Electrical testing and fault finding
- Working around instrumentation and process equipment
- Assisting with pre-commissioning and commissioning activities where required
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
- Identifying and working through installation/design issues on site
- Completing work safely and within tight project deadlines
Roster & Conditions
- FIFO to Northern Territory
- Approximately 22 days on / 6 days off
- Up to 12-hour shifts
- $85 per hour flat rate
- Paid travel time
- Flights provided
- Accommodation provided
- All meals provided while on site
- Remote/dry camp environment
- Project currently scheduled through to end of November 2026
- Potential commissioning work following construction
What We're Looking For To be considered, you will ideally have:
- Australian-recognised Electrical trade qualification
- Appropriate electrical licence to undertake work in the Northern Territory
- Current White Card
- Previous industrial construction experience
- Oil & gas, LNG, mining, energy or heavy industrial project experience highly regarded
- Experience working on gas/process plants advantageous
- Ability to read electrical drawings and complete installations independently
- Robust construction experience – this is not a commissioning-only position
- Ability to work long FIFO swings in a remote environment
- Strong safety awareness and work ethic
- Australian working rights
Candidates on temporary visas may be considered provided they have unrestricted/appropriate working rights for the duration of the project and hold the required Australian licences and qualifications.
Successful candidates must also be willing to complete all required pre-employment compliance, including:
