About us:
At Rockhampton's Community Care Unit, recovery comes with a strong focus on building confidence, independence and everyday life skills. The unit provides mental health care and rehabilitation in a supportive, supervised residential setting, helping residents take the next steps towards living independently in the community.
From cooking, shopping and managing wellbeing to getting out and about, building social connections and returning to work or study, the unit supports the practical skills that make everyday life possible. With 20 self-contained one-bedroom units, accessible accommodation, dedicated spaces for group programs and education, and welcoming areas for families, visitors and community activities, it's a space where recovery, connection and independence come together.
About the role:
- Providing high-level, evidence-based nursing care to adults living with severe and enduring mental illness, you will support each person through their individual recovery journey within the Community Care Unit.
- As a key clinical leader on shift, you will coordinate the day-to-day operation of the unit and work alongside the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, reliable and person-centred care in the dynamic mental health environment.
- Through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation,
you will contribute to individualised care while supporting clinical pathways, care management protocols and quality improvement activities.
- Supporting a culture of learning and development, you will contribute to staff induction, transition and education programs while maintaining professional standards and your own continuing career development.
About you:
- It is a mandatory requirement of the role to be registered as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Whilst not mandatory, a sound understanding of recovery-focused mental health care is important, with a relevant mental health qualification highly regarded.
- You demonstrate strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills, fostering a high-performing multidisciplinary team and building effective strategic partnerships with government and non-government service providers.
- You are highly organised and committed to continuous professional development, with the ability to prioritise competing demands, model evidence-based practice, and actively support the growth, learning and capability of others through education and professional networking.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $132,934 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $57.76 - $61.85 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
