Our client, a federal government agency is seeking experienced Lead Service Designers to join their team. This role involves leading the design and delivery of innovative, user-focused services across various channels to support Australians in securing fair and productive work environments.
As a Lead Service Designer, you will work within agile, multidisciplinary teams, directing research, prototyping, and testing to develop comprehensive service blueprints and artefacts. Your expertise will help translate insights into actionable work packages, collaborating closely with subject matter experts, data analysts, and delivery teams to ensure alignment with business and user needs.
This position offers a hybrid working arrangement with onsite presence required at least part time at the agency's Australian locations, including QLD, WA, ACT, VIC, NSW, and SA. The role calls for a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week with flexibility considered based on business needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading end-to-end service design engagements with a focus on delivering impactful, user-centered solutions.
- Collaborating with stakeholders and senior management to build strong relationships and communicate design intent effectively.
- Planning and conducting user research and usability testing to validate design solutions.
- Developing and utilizing key metrics to evaluate service impact and inform iterative improvements.
The ideal candidate brings demonstrated experience in service design within medium to large enterprises, agile multidisciplinary teams, and familiarity with the delivery lifecycle stages in complex projects. Experience working within government agencies and knowledge of the Commonwealth Digital Service Standard is highly desirable.
