About the Role
Provide a high level of Casualty Risk Engineering support to Chubb Insurance operations in Australia and across the Asia Pacific region. Identify key risks and exposures across a range of Casualty insurance coverages, including product liability, product recall, public liability and premises liability.



Develop and deliver services to both internal and external customers in a professional manner that is appropriate to the level of risk, with the aim of attracting and retaining profitable business. Complete risk evaluations in a timely manner and by the agreed due date.

In this role, you will:

- Liaise with the Casualty Risk Engineering Team Leader.
- Undertake risk engineering / loss prevention activities for local and overseas Chubb offices in accordance with Chubb Underwriting and Risk Engineering Services guidelines.
- Conduct Casualty risk evaluations of information provided by third parties, and/or; from information collected via internet search, from phone / video calls / site meetings with insurance brokers, clients or other third parties, or from site surveys.
- Provide general technical support to assist Chubb underwriting staff.
- Assist with the management of referrals from Casualty Underwriters located in Australia and other countries.
- Provide account management where required, including scheduling and monitoring of risk engineering site surveys, quality assurance, and development of relationships with customers.
- Remain abreast of current loss prevention and risk engineering best practices, including identifying emerging risks and market trends.
- Work in conjunction with others on special projects to improve process efficiency, develop new business opportunities or risk engineering products.




- Provide technical support in a specialised area of expertise as designated for the benefit of Chubb and our insureds.
- Market Chubb Risk Engineering Services by conducting presentations on capabilities and services.

What you’ll bring to the role

- Engineering or physical science degree with at least 5 years post-degree work experience, preferably in general manufacturing industries with Quality Assurance, Quality Control or Occupational Health & Safety experience; or in the insurance industry as a Risk Engineer, Claim handler / Adjuster.
- Effective communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, brokers and Chubb personnel worldwide.
- Valuable written and spoken English language skills.
- Good technical report writing skills.
- A willingness to travel to service client locations throughout Australia, the Asia Pacific Region and further afield if required.

Desirable:

- Insurance industry or risk management experience.
- Personal injury and third party property risk associated with manufacturing defects or poor product design.
