About the Role

Australian Food & Fibre is seeking a curious and commercially minded AI Business Partner to join our Information, Systems & Technology team.

This is an exciting opportunity to start your career at the intersection of AI, data, technology and Australian agriculture. You’ll work across AFF’s diverse operations to understand real business challenges and identify practical ways AI, automation and data can improve how we work.

Working alongside our broader IT team and employees across AFF, you’ll gain exposure to everything from farming and processing through to supply chain and corporate operations, while helping turn ideas into practical solutions that deliver measurable business value.

Key responsibilities include:

- Engage with teams across AFF to understand workflows, challenges and opportunities where AI, automation and data could make a difference.
- Identify and help prioritise practical AI use cases based on business value, feasibility and adoption readiness.
- Support the development, testing and implementation of AI-enabled tools, automation and data solutions.
- Build AI capability across AFF through hands-on coaching, workshops, practical guidance and knowledge sharing.




- Analyse business information and emerging technologies to identify insights and opportunities for continuous improvement.

This is a full-time, 12-month contract with the potential for permanency and can be Sydney or regionally based. Some travel to AFF operational sites will be required to gain a genuine understanding of our farming, processing and supply chain operations.

About You

You don’t need to have years of experience behind you. We’re looking for someone with a genuine curiosity about AI and technology, an interest in how businesses operate, and the confidence to work with people across a diverse organisation.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

- Recent tertiary qualifications in AI, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Technology, Engineering, Commerce, Agriculture or a related discipline.
- A genuine interest in using AI, automation and data to solve real-world business problems.
- Exposure to tools such as Excel, Power BI, Python, automation platforms or generative AI.
- Robust communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and build relationships across the business.
- Initiative, adaptability and a willingness to learn, including travelling to AFF operational sites as required.

Exposure to process improvement, analytics, automation, change adoption or creating training and user guidance would also be highly regarded.
